My name is Liz Spencer and I’m originally from South Central Kansas. I am a junior at the University of Oklahoma studying Management Information Systems. I am very dedicated student and that shows through my campus involvement and high GPA.
I am an advocate for Native issues and work to promote visibility of Native students and issues on campus. I am the Secretary of the American Indigenous Business Leaders OU Chapter and Black Council Chair for my sorority, Gamma Delta Pi. Gamma Delta Pi is the only indigenous sorority on campus and is committed instilling character, and appreciation of culture, unity, respect, scholarship, and most importantly, the sisterhood of American Indian Women.
My involvement with the National American Indigenous Business Leadershas led me to secure a summer internship with Kauffman & Associates in Washington, DC. I will be helping with some research, follow up surveys, sit in on Congressional hearings regarding Native issues, and get a lot of valuable real world experience.
My tribal affiliation is with the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma and I also have Muscogee(Creek), Seminole and Mexican heritage.
