Intern Spotlight: Wicahpi Cikala Chaddlesone-Yankton

My name is Wicahpi Cikala Chaddlesone-Yankton is an enrolled member of Oglala Sioux Tribe. I am currently attending Bridgewater State University (BSU) in Bridgewater, Massachusetts on a four year academic scholarship that will financially support me through graduation. I am attending BSU because my family encouraged me to attend a college off-reservation. They influenced my choice of career and major by watching them achieve a lot in the political field. I am currently majoring in political science in international affairs.This past year she has worked with the 2020 Census and voter registration training on the Pine Ridge reservation. Also, she has been working and volunteering for multiple political campaigns on the Pine Ridge reservation in 2020. I will be able to gain more college experience, to work, and to teach others about my heritage and push myself to the limits of being a college student within the 7TH GEN Summer Program.
